FISH MEAL

Kobyalar fish meal contain high content of protein and fat content is rich in OMEGA-3 fatty acids. The animals which have fish meal in their diets have strong immune system.

Fish meal has high nutritional value. Kobyalar offers fish meal with high digestible protein content and omega 3 fatty acids. Fish meal in Turkey is produced from Black Sea anchovy. Black Sea anchovy is a small pelagic fish which is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and protein.

Fish meal is produced by wet pressing method in Turkey. The aim is to separate oil, solid and water part of raw material this time fish. In Turkey fish meal is mainly manufactured from Black Sea anchovy and European Sprat by cooking, pressing, separation and drying steps. After cooking and pressing the solid part which is called “presscake”, goes to dryers and the liquid part (water + oil) goes to separation. After the separation of fish oil, the remaining liquid part is called “stickwater”. Stickwater is rich in nutrients especially soluble proteins. Stickwater is concentrated in falling film evaporators and added to presscake to be dried. After drying process, fish meal is packed and stored in good conditions before delivered to customers. All the processes are run at HACCP and GMP+ B2 rules.

The raw material freshness and drying methods are determining factors of fish meal quality. Handling of raw material is a very important step in preserving freshness. In Turkey due to fishing methods, raw material arrives in a short time with iced hygienic tanks to production plant and processed immediately.

BENEFITS OF FISH MEAL TO ANIMALS

Fish meal is mostly used in aquaculture industry in the world. The nutritional value of the protein relates directly to its amino acid composition and digestibility.

High quality fish meal provides a balanced amount of all essential amino acids, phospholipids, and fatty acids (e.g.,DHA or docosahexaenoic acid and EPA or eicosapentaenoic acid) for optimum development, growth, and reproduction. Animals cannot make amino acids in their body. Amino acids that cannot be synthesized by the animal, and therefore must be supplied in the diet. The amino acid profile of fishmeal is what makes this feed ingredient so attractive as a protein supplement. Some benefits of fish meal to aquaculture fish are listed.

  • The nutrients in fishmeal aid in disease resistance by improving immune system.
  • Fish meal high diets supplies fast and optimal growth, as a result feeding costs are reduced.
  • Fishmeal into diets helps to reduce pollution from the wastewater effluent by providing greater nutrient digestibility.
